Project Lead and contact details:
Punita Chowbey

This research project will explore eating behaviours and food choice in Bangladeshi and Pakistani families from the perspective of household resource allocation and decision making power. The study is interested in how culture and gender norms, and health and educational values shape decision making regarding shopping, cooking and food portions and how this is shared between different family members, particularly men and women; and across generations. The study will focus on the perspectives and experiences of 12 families with children representing diverse socioeconomic backgrounds in Sheffield and Rotherham.
