The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Programme for Applied Research is funding a five year Research Programme: Valuing Active Life in Dementia (VALID), that commenced in January 2012. The VALID Programme will evaluate community occupational therapy for people with dementia and their family carers. It is based on the work conducted in The Netherlands by Graff and colleagues that led to the development of the Community Occupational Therapy in Dementia (COTiD) intervention.  There will be three main research sites: London, Sheffield and Hull.
