Decisions about Weight Management (DaWM) Study

Project lead: Ian Brown (Sheffield Hallam University)

The DaWM Study aims to develop and evaluate a decision aid to help patients in making choices about weight management.

Stage 1:
A review of existing research about what influences people in deciding what to do about weight problems
Stage 2:
Interviewing people about how and why they take decisions on weight management.
Stage 3:
Development of a decision aid to assist patients in making choices. This will be designed for use in consultations with doctors and nurses seen in general practice. A study will then be undertaken to test out the decision aid in practice.
